Wiesbaden/Bensheim. In January of 2008 the model project "children day-care centre - quality and professionalism by continuity and stable framework conditions" initiated by the Social Ministry of Hesse and the Karl Kübel Foundation for the Child and Family is going to take place. Among the targets is the flexible variety of children-care offers which are always directed to the requirement and different needs of the individual families. The new legal directive of the day-care improvement law (TAG) emphasizes equal standards for the institutional children care and the care of ordinary children day-care facilities. The project with the duration of three years was put up for tender at the end of August.
All cities, communities and rural districts, church communities, charitable institutions, associations, initiatives and companies which cooperate with a community of Hesse throughout the whole region of Hesse could apply until the 12th of October 2007. Seven applicants are chosen by the initiators and experts of the daily care by the end of October and will receive a start capital of 10,000 € in January 2008.
The pilot project, which is planned up until 2010, not only focuses on the quantity of tenders, but also the quality, reliability and costs do play a significant role throughout this procedere. Thereby, the promotion programme BAMBINI in Hesse, which was established in 2007, offers a variety of new opportunities to sponsoring agencies to extend the day-care statute as far as its quality and quantity is concerned. It comprises both the financial release of parents and the extension of the day-care places for children under the age of three.
In the framework of the project "children day-care facilities" the selected communities and institutions receive not only financial injections, but also expert support, e.g. by the day-care office in Hesse or supportive measures in terms of the extension of sponsoring structures or the qualification of day-care persons. Thereby, the participation at expert conferences, the exchange of experience with experts, practical information, direct and immediate presentation by means of various workshops and the supply of numerous working materials as well as an intense press- and public work to enhance the project are also taken into account and put into practice.
