Being an entrepreneur turned philanthropist, he naturally wanted to apply to social work /development work some of the principles applied in the business. One of them is the input output relationship. In business it is easy to measure the output in terms of profit. But in the case of social work the output or outcome is the positive changes that happen in the lives of the people for whom projects are being implemented. Mr. Kübel might have noticed that the outcomes of the projects in some cases were not in proportionate to the inputs. His own assessment of the projects during the visits and the external evaluations brought to his attention that lack of sufficient capacity in terms of knowledge and skills in the project personnel was the main reason for the underperformance of some projects.
