On the 12th of December 2009 Karl Kübel Institute for Development Education (KKID) celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of its beloved Founder Karl Kübel. He was one of the rare and distinguished social entrepreneurs of this era, who strongly believed in the development of deserving people, the need to restore their dignity and did all that was possible within his reach to contribute to improving the quality of their lives in society.
The last of his foundings was in India, known as KKID in Coimbatore, which has completed 10 years of its journey on this day, following the footprints and road map of our dear Founder. Apart from the capacity building programmes for a wide variety of clientele in India and abroad in different sectors, the institute offers many other related programmes. As a part of our social responsibility, the institute has active partnership with the women and children of the nearby tribal villages.
A kindergarten is dedicated on this day, the 12th of December 2009, in Coimbatore, to renew once again our commitment to the cause for which our Founder lived his life till the end!!
On the 6th of September 2009 Karl Kübel Stiftung für Kind und Familie, Germany, was celebrating the 100th birthday of the founder, entrepreneur Karl Kübel († 2006).
In the anniversary year Karl Kübel Stiftung wants to remind of Karl Kübel, who lived all his life by the motto "How can I help", with different activities. One of the visible and effective symbols for his altruistic engagement is the foundation, located in Bensheim, which is helping disadvantaged families in Germany and abroad. It was founded in 1972 by Karl Kübel, who brought big parts of his private assets and all the proceeds from the sale of his home-centres into the foundation.
One of Karl Kübel´s principles was that family is the basis for society and the fundament for future. Strong and upstanding parents can offer a good livelihood for their children and strengthen them for their future lives.
Maxims in his life
Karl Kübel had the vision that more and more parents would be able to preserve and increase their children's chances in life. Achieving this vision is one of the main targets of the foundation, which is based on the oecumenic Christianity and follows "Help for Self-help" as one of the basic principles. The foundation works in a preventive sense especially with families with young children, because in young years most important and effective impulses for a successful development can be given.
Help for Self-help and solidary sharing with those who are needy where the maxims in Karl Kübel´s life. Adapting this idea Karl Kübel Stiftung initiated centenary projects in Germany, India and the Philippines.
